ONLINE 2 DAY WEBINAR: Writer/Director/Set Coach Adam Tait- BECOME A WORKING ACTOR

  • Talent House Academy (map)

About Adam’s Session

Ninety-nine percent of the kid actors submitting self-tape auditions have a great look, great personality, and good energy, and good instincts. Casting directors and directors and producers will watch the tapes analytically, asking if this actor checks all the boxes.
But some actors will make them forget all of the boxes, and just enjoy the performance! These are the actors they want to put on their shows, and in their movies!
— Adam Tait

* Class is Limited to 15 Actors to Maximize Participant Interaction and Engagement During the Online Sessions

CLASS BREAKDOWN:

BE A WORKING ACTOR: RECURRING, GUEST-STAR, AND CO-STAR ROLES

Eventually you hope to be a series regular in your own TV show, or land a leading role in a studio film!  But before that happens most likely you are going to do several smaller, but important and fun parts on other shows.  In this two-part workshop, we'll talk about how to get the most out of your experience doing recurring, guest-star, and co-star roles.

Part 1:  What Happens After You Book?

Congratulations, you booked a role on your favorite sit-com, now what? In this workshop, Adam will walk you through a typical week working on a sit-com.  We'll talk about all the different people you'll interact with on the show, how to make a good impression of each one, and why that's important!  You'll get an information packet with a list of who does what on a show, so when you arrive on set, you'll look like a seasoned pro!  We'll also do some light scene work, and begin to talk about the difference between audition acting with the regulars on the show you've booked!

Part 2:  How Do You Impress the Right People?

Booking a co-star or guest star role is an opportunity for you to expand your network, and impress the writers and studio executives  who create new shows.  In this workshop, we'll talk about how to impress those important gatekeepers with your acting and professionalism!  In this second part of the two part series we'll focus on acting in rehearsal, and on camera, and how that's different from auditioning.  We'll talk about how to impress your fellow actors, who many times are producers on the show.  We'll talk about how to make yourself stand-out from every other guest star, and make the writers want to turn your co-star or guest star into a recurring character!

    • The techniques you'll learn will give a set of tools to methodically approach those lines, and make them work for you
