Having worked in casting for over twenty years, specializing in youth programming for the past ten years, Carol is uniquely qualified to bring young actors to the next level in their comic acting and their ability to make strong comedy choices.
Carol will pick out a scene for each actor in advance based on type, age, and gender and will bring them in with her.
She works in a class setting, reading with each actor individually in front of all, so learning opportunities are maximized.
In the scene work, we will cover the following:
Acting with the appropriate energy for multi-camera shows
Making the right choices for scripted comedy versus sketch comedy
Making the right choices for multi-camera versus single camera shoots
Making choices which highlight the comedy and “land” the joke
Making appropriate character choices
Actors will be re-directed and given adjustments to shape the scene to the writer’s intentions.
